Insurance Plans Accepted
Our practice participates with Medicare, Highmark Blue Cross/Blue Shield, UPMC Health Plan, many private insurance companies, and most managed care organizations. We are also authorized as panel physicians for numerous workers’ compensation boards. If you are unsure about whether we participate with your insurance plan, please feel free to call our office, or check with your insurance company.
Many managed care plans have specific guidelines that patients must follow. As specialists, we trust that our patients have contacted their primary care physicians and have obtained authorization to be treated by our group if necessary. We also expect that managed care patients come to the office prepared to pay any necessary copays at the time of service. It is ultimately the patient’s responsibility to know their insurance company’s requirements, but our staff will work with you to make this process as stress free as possible.
If a liability carrier is involved, such as in the event of an automobile accident or workers’ compensation injury, please come prepared with the name and address of the insurance company where the claims should be submitted and your claim number. Having this information at the time of your initial visit will assist you in getting your claims paid promptly. You will also be asked to inform your health insurance carrier of your treatment and obtain referrals as a backup just in case your liability carrier denies your claim.
Our financial counselor is available for you to discuss any billing questions that you may have, or to set up a reasonable payment plan that is custom designed according to your financial needs.
